Cent to Square Feet Conversion

We all will come through cent , square feet , acres when we buy or plan to buy a land. We are familiar with the words but still most of us are very bad in the actual conversions.

I from my personal experience would say that knowing the land area conversions are utmost important.

Square Feet and Cent :
The area of square with 1 foot side is called as the square feet. Both the square feet and currency are US customary units.

How much square feets in 1 cents ?

Now let us know about the conversion of these units. Some of us would know. Some may not. This would help for those who are not aware of it.

                           1 cent = 435. 54 square feet

Based on this , we can calculate the square feets for larger cents.

For example, if you want to find the square feet of 3 cents.

Multiply 3 by 435.54 square feet.

You will get the answer as 1306.62 square feet.

Decimal to Fraction Conversion

Decimal and Fractions :
Decimal and Fraction are the different ways of representing a number, but the value remains the same.

In simple words, decimal numbers are numbers containing a point in it, which is said as a decimal point. Fractional numbers are two numbers separated by a horizontal line.

Though we are well known of these, this blog would be a very helpful guide for parents and teachers to teach decimals and fractions to their children.

Decimal Numbers :

  As already said, decimal numbers are the numbers having a decimal point in it.

The numbers succeeding the point can be considered from tens,hundreds,......

For example, consider a number 45.6

In this number, the number preceeding the point can be considered as ones,tens,hundreds, etc., and the number after point starts from tens, hundreds, etc.,

Fraction Numbers :

Fraction numbers consists of two whole numbers separated by a horizontal line.

The number above the horizontal line is called as numerator and the number below the line is denominator.

             1  = Numerator
             2  = Denominator

Decimal to Fraction Conversion :

Decimal and fraction having the same value is represented in different forms.

Example 1 :

If the number does no have any value before the decimal point, count the number after the point. If we have onedigit, then divide the number by 10, if we have two digits divide it by 100 and it goes on.

0.1   =  1/ 10

0.12  = 1/100

0.123 = 1/ 1000

Now consider the number , 0.25.

Since it has two digits after the point, we can take it as 25/ 100.

Both the numerator and denominator are divisible by 5 and hence we can take it as (25/5) / (100/5) which gives 5/20 . Again both 5 and 20 can be divisible by 5 and hence it can be taken as (5/5) / ( 20/5), which gives the answer as 1/10.

Example 2 :

Consider the number 1.25.

1 + ( 25 / 100) = 1 + ((25/5) / (100 / 5))  = 1 + (5 / 20) = 1 + (1/10). This can be written as 1 (1 /10 ).

Thus decimal numbers can be converted to fractional numbers.
